Mitch Miller > "At 3 a.m. we started again from Golden Canyon, as the last rider in the race."

7 a.m. Sunday, Mile 300; About to begin the climb up Jubilee Pass and out of Death Valley. Panamint Mtns. beyond.
Mitch Miller > "After 6pm I had the crew follow behind me in the dark. Kind of annoying hearing a my car in first gear almost stalling because I was going so slow. I must have been passed by everyone going up Towne Pass, mostly relay teams with fresher legs than I had after 200 miles into the race. A lot of other solo riders passed me up as well. I definitely didn't have my climbing legs. I was struggling on this climb quite a bit, and a few times noticed my odometer say 3 mph. Very demoralizing since I can walk and push my bike almost as fast, so I did that for a few miles."
Mitch Miller > 6:43 p.m. Saturday, elevation 1,580', Highway 190, heading for 4,956' Towne Pass; a 10 mile climb mostly 6-10% grade, up to 13%.

Mitch Miller > "The climb up to Randsburg was tough. Aye Aye (the 20 year old vegan rider and 508 veteran) passed me as always on the climbs."

"Aye Aye" smiles on the ascent to Randsburg. Her avg. speed this leg was 17.19 mph. And Adrian was at 17.33 mph.
