Mitch Miller > "Some more cross winds in this section, then a nice aero decent to Panamint Valley and the junction to Towne Pass at sunset."
Mitch Miller > "Trona met me with a brutal headwind for about 1 mile, it nearly blew me off the bike. I went around a corner right before Trona and was met with gale force head winds, with dirt and sand flying, going from like 20 mph to a dead stop within 2 seconds. I almost didn't have enough time to take my feet out of the pedals before I was forced to a stop. Some of the relay teams passed me up here."

Mitch Miller > 11:13 a.m. at Mile 340

" In Shoshone (mile 326) I blew right past the Time Station and had to come back to state for the record that SuperVegan Cow (i.e. me) passed thru. Thestral (a 52 year old rider from Alaska) passed me up, his crew van following right behind. I chose leap-frog support for the whole second day, as I felt I had plenty of sleep. I was flying on the rollers to Baker, but about 5 miles from Baker I started to feel pain in my left Achilles which lasted for the rest of the race, i.e. another 130 miles. I seemed to have passed a lot of racers at the time station, who needed a lot more rest than I did, but they almost always passed me up again shortly after."
